The District police drama series inspired from real-life experiences of former New York Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Maple, a pertinacious crime-fighter with his revolutionary tactics and efforts that he incredibly dropped Washington, D.C.’s crime rate to 50 percent.
Despite the city of have the most numbers of Law Enforcement Agencies around the world, Washington was demoralized and agencies were ineffective as they still has the highest crime rate in US. The city hired Police Commissioner Jack Maple, portrayed by Police District Chief Jack Mannion in the series, the movie-quoting lounge-singing former NYPD Cop well-known as the underdog champion and an avowed crime-fighter with his dedicated team; they take over crime-ridden and drug-infested streets of the city. They successfully cut crime rate to half and made the city safely and ideal place to live.
